Greetings,

Has anyone loaded 32 H&R magnum using Missouri Bullet Company 98gr DEWC and Titegroup. Trying to find load data for some target rounds - with recommended OAL/COL.

thank you

D

I have not used Titegroup, but have loaded plenty of plated WCs in .32 Long and .32 Mag, including the MBC coated 98 Gr WC in .32 Long.

Realize one thing, the bullet takes up a lot of space in the case, so pressure goes up fast, be sure to start at the minimum and work up really slow, as in .1 Gr at a time.

Load them to the crimp groove, and that will be your OAL. I just taper crimp them lightly, but a light roll crimp with the MBC DEWC is just fine.

2.5 Grs WST under a Berrys 83 Gr WC at 1.170 OAL gives me around 850/875 FPS in .32 Mag. 2.4 Grs N310 gives about 75/100 FPS more.

1.7 Grs N310 under the MBC 98 Gr DEWC at .960 OAL gives about 815 FPS in .32 Long

1.9 Grs Competition under the MBC 98 Gr DEWC gives about 750 FPS at .960 OAL in .32 Long

Hope this helps some.

Sorry, I use the Meister's 100gr. DEWC's in my .32 Long and Magnum. Mostly with either Bullseye or Red Dot. I just don't like TiteGroup in revolvers.

I'll have to try @Walkalong 's recipe using 1.9gr. of Ramshot Competition and see how it compares to my old tried-n-true 1.6gr. Bullseye/2.1gr Red Dot loads.

Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences - this is a new caliber for me so I wanted to possibly try using the powder I have on hand but probably time to try a completely new setup.

thank you again!

Will tightgroup work absolutely. Do people prefer cooler powders yes. Is the rate of fire in a revolver generally fast enough in my use to create heat issues no. Will the same people saying TG is hot also use little gun which has similar heat issues yes.

Never tried Lil'Gun. Never needed to. To me, anything you can do with Lil'Gun you can do better with IMR 4227, 2400, or No.4100. I just recently discovered Ramshot Enforcer, which come to find out IS No.4100, :feet: and it does everything 2400 or IMR 4227 can do but with less fill. Good powder. I like it a lot better than H110/W296 for handguns. No.4100 used to be hard to find for me. Tried it during the 07/08 shortages when 2400 was hard to come by and liked it okay but when that first set of one-pounders was gone, so was inventory. Weird. Anyway, no, I'm not a TiteGroup fan but I use it in some auto-loader recipes (best thing around for Makarov); no Lil'Gun for me, tho. TG's nice for a cold day to take the chill off old fingers. :)
