So the Smith and Wesson K-frames have their own thread going....let's see some love for the Colt D-frames!
J-Bar
Back in 1978, according to Gun Digest from that year, the retail price for a blued 4" barrel Diamondback, in .22LR or .38 Special, was $211.95. This was up approximately $15 from the previous year's retail price. A nickel plated finish, available in .38 Special only, would have cost you $4 more over the blued version.
Mmmmm, honorable mention perhaps. The new Cobra is closer to the SFIV frame, as used on the Magnum Carrry, than the D-frame, and has no interchangeable parts with the D.New one.
The ones that don't have "snake" names are still somewhat reasonable. But the D-back, Cobra and Viper are getting pulled up there........Colt's snubbies are still surprisingly affordable. Is pressure from J frames and LCR's keeping prices down?
I'm not in the market for a snubnose right now, but it sure is tough walking past those walnut grips and gorgeous blueing.
