.25acp and .32acp will be forever in the dustbin of "couldabeens".After all these posts, I'm convinced on one fact:
The 25ACP is the real step-child in the family. The 380 just took a little extra time to mature.
Isn't it what .25 NAA is for? Not to mention, .22 TCM and FN 5.7 if you want even more oomph. No manufacturer wants to put out a .25acp+P+ for fear of those guns exploding.

Nice looking pistol...I also have a Firestorm and its a tack driver..380 ACP.
While the cartridge is a modest performer from a micro pistol, it is not too shabby from a 3.5" barrel.
Not my first choice in a self defense round, but, do enjoy having it, and would not hesitate to use it.
Loaded with Winchester 95 gr. PDX1:
It has its place. 380 acp and 9x18 Mak with FMJ are suitable cartridges with proper shot placement. IMHOThere does not seem to be a lot of respect for the .380 acp caliber here on the forum.
I carry a .380 on those days where my attire makes it necessary. My EDC is a Sig P365 60 percent of the time. During summer months it's a S&W60-14 .357 mag or an LCRx38.
This allows me to carry snake shot for copperheads and rattlesnakes we have. For those of you that have never seen what a .380 will do, I submit this; )and Moderators, if this pic is offensive then please accept my apology and delete it. Last year, I had a problem with a coon that could get into my feed no matter how I stored it, even a metal garbage can with the lid chained to the can. I finally set a trap and caught him but even then, he ripped the stake out of the ground and headed for the water. When I shot him with a KahrP380 with 90gr Critical Defense, he was swimming away from me about 10 yards from the bank and only the back of his head out of water. I aimed at his head knowing I'd hit the body and 1 shot did it. I went back to the house and got a grappling hook on so rope and after a few tries, I got him hooked and drug in to the bank. I didn't have my phone and had to walk back home, (this is a 3/4 mile walk one way too) and came back later in the day and took this pic.
The round went in on the opposite side to the exit wound and thru a few
inches of water too. This is the result. I certainly wouldn't want to be shot with one.

Not advocating anything but sometimes, a pic helps put things in perspective for those who've never had the opportunity to observe something first hand. Oh, the rope was to make sure he'd still be there when I got back and not drug into my pond by a snapping turtle.
Dano
just talk to someone who got shot with a 380, or visit one of the many of graves of people who didnt survive.
they're buried next to the ones who catched a 22lr in the wrong spot.
That is ridiculous in the extreme.people who have no respect for a certain caliber should ask someone who has been shot with that caliber how they think about the caliber.
What does that have to do with self defense?or visit one of the many of graves of people who didnt survive.
they're buried next to the ones who catched a 22lr in the wrong spot.
That cannot be overemphasizedI would add that even if you aren't recoil intolerant, it can be easier to get pistol back on target if you don't have a lot of muzzle flip to overcome.
Makes sense to me. The Makarov round is only marginally bigger than .380 ACP, but 12+1 in a pistol that is easy to shoot accurately beats 6+1 in a pocket mini.Weird, I know. I feel very under gunned when I carry only my LCP!!, but alright carrying a CZ 82 with 9 X 18 Makarov. I know it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
Here's my new 10+1 pocket mini.Makes sense to me. The Makarov round is only marginally bigger than .380 ACP, but 12+1 in a pistol that is easy to shoot accurately beats 6+1 in a pocket mini.
LCP Max? How does it shoot. I've never tried one. Here's my new 10+1 pocket mini.
If you're healthy, it shoots fine, and fairly accurate for what it is. If you have bad arthritis, it sucks. I had 2, and was pretty fond of them, but I reached a point where they were too painful to shoot. They're gone now, and it's really too bad.LCP Max? How does it shoot. I've never tried one.
