Oh? Easy to come by? My store currently has zero (0). And the brass that I order on line is very expensive. What’s your state? I “MAY” try reloading anything that will give me a few more blinkers rounds, but only the best goes into my hunting and defense rounds, On those I’m pretty picky and wouldn’t use steel or aluminum.
I pick up all kinds of brass from the range. A year ago, there wasn't much. Fast forward to summer 2022, the brass buckets are flowing over with brass of all kinds. It appears that people are going to the range more often now.

Also, there are many online places for used brass.

I recently bought some Starline 380 for a decent price. It was on "backorder" but I received it in two weeks.

$29 shipped for 500 is pretty cheap.

I am not associated with the seller in the listed auction, nor do I recommend any auction site or seller. Site listing is provided as an example of average online pricing for cleaned, used .380ACP brass.
Geo - thanks for the link. Haven’t been there yet but at $29/500 that’s only about 6 cents a casing, and a darn good deal. And I would MUCH rather load brass than try to fool around with steel or aluminum. And as low as I am on 380 brass I am going to try it. Also, that’s a good caveat in your message - would you mind if I copied and used it. I hesitate recommending sites/sellers to anyone other that my buddies, but if it’s a legitimate, dependable, and reliable source I wouldn’t think twice.

You're welcome and sure, feel free to copy-paste the quote or send @Walkalong an IM asking about better, "Moderator approved" wording.

There's better prices than that at GoneBroker and other places online but 6¢/each is about on the average side for cleaned but otherwise unprepped .380 brass of unknown age and usage.

IME many times another source for inexpensive brass is the buy/sell/trade forums on this and other sites. Depending on the cartridge/caliber you are loading for, sometimes the PIF thread is worth it. A few of the members here have gifted brass to new reloaders to get them started.

Another commercial source for used brass is Diamond K brass and there are several others. Prices and availability varies...
And as some have mentioned, it's hard to beat Starline for new brass.

One thing I'll mention on used 380 brass is to check them out for the internal step or bulge that some have.

Have a Kahr .380, been using 3.1 gr HP38 with Berrys 100 gr round nose, seem to work great- no malfunctions at all. Used to use Bullseye but can’t find it locally- it also worked great. I’ve loaded 95 gr flat points and hollow points, they all seem to cycle with no problems

Thanks for the tip. I don’t have HP 38 but do have some Unique that I used for my trap 12 and 16 gage loads. Built ladders for my 95 gr REM RN and my 100 gr Berry HBFN and found a load up near the top of the ladder that gave good accuracy, ejection, and recoil for my wife to use for practice rounds. I keep my eye open for powders that will work well in the Glock 42.. maybe my buddy with the Walther P380 has a few extra grains that I can try.

I like faster powders in 380. The barrels are so short, I want the powder to burn in the barrel and push the bullet.
I've used bullseye and Win231 with success.

I tried Universal, it shot well, but it felt like burning powder was blowing out the barrel and ejection port and landing on my hands and forearms. Unique is a similar burn rate as Universal, so I never tried it.

I have tried starline but they’re back ordered on 380. I will look at DiamondK. but have never tried the PIF thread - will look at it too.
