.380 Load Data Using Bullseye

Hello all!
I'd like to load some .380 but the only bullets I can get my hands on are 124gr FMJ.
I'm using bullseye powder.
Anyone have any load data for this?

That is a 9mm Luger bullet & sets on a charge of 3.9 grains of Bullseye. I don't think your .380 can handle that. If you do get it to work then let me have the data so I don't have to blow up a gun trying.

I would try to stay under 100gr for 380. Here is a few more options.

I'm very interested to here what you find out on this. I get a 115 gr JHP from Walmart. They are Hornady XTP which might be safer to try first. I was thinking of working up a load for them when your thread garbed my eye. My post is sincere & I just wanted to offer what little I know about it. I would hate to make a guess on a round that someone else would be shooting though.

stevespages.com shows 1.8 to 2.0 gr. Bullseye behind a 124 gr. with a CCI-500 primer. I have found many of the loads on Steve's to be very hot. I would look for a lighter bullet.

As a commercial loader, I use the Berry 100 gr plated bullets in my 380 product. Works great, feeds great, looks great! 3.1 gr Bullseye.

I don't know it all, but I have loaded over 50 million rounds of ammo in most calibers, and would not load the combo you mentioned.

Berry Bullets has what you want. Hook up with them on their site. Buy enough, and they eat the shipping.

I prefer plated bullets over jacketed any day. Don't waste resources trying to load some hollow point in your mouse gun.

One can have penetration or expansion in the 380. Choose one.

You can safely load 125 gr bullets in 380 using small charges of Unique but they most likely won't feed. The bullet is so long for the case you have to seat the bullet so deep to meet OAL you wind up with brass rim around the meplat of the bullet. Bullseyeis too fast for this heavy bullet AFAIC.

Best to use 100 gr or lighter.

I use 3.8 gr of Unique powder

I have great results with 95gr cast bullets for 9x18 Makarov with Bullseye,W-231 and AA#5.

As most everyone is trying to tell you, that combination is not going to work.

The 124 grain FMJ will have to be seated so deep, the base will bulge out the tapered case wall and probably won't chamber. And as GRIZ22 said, the meplate will likely end up inside the case neck.

Bullseye is also too fast to attempt to push that way heavy for caliber bullet without a high risk of over-pressure.

You would be talking somewhere around a 2.0 - 2.3 grain MAX load!!!
Just normal powder measure variation in charges could blow your shorts off.

As several also said, order some Berry .380 bullets and don't try sailing in uncharted waters with a weak gun & case design like the .380.
