.380 question

No. The 380 is a 9x17 and the Ruger chambered for 9x19. 380 brass is smaller. You can get one and only one to shoot in a 9x19 pistol and it will malfunction and have to be cleared. Not in a revolver.

Other names for .380 ACP include 380 Auto, 9mm Browning, 9mm Corto, 9mm Kurz, 9mm Short, and the previously mentioned 9x17mm.

never deviate from the type of ammo specified on the gun itself. this is not like .357 vs. .38 special.

besides, why would you want to use a less powerful yet more expensive round?

If that Blackhawk is built the same as my boss's 45ACP, then auto cartidges headspace on the case mouth.

If a cartridge headspaces on the case mouth then the 380 will fall completely inside the chamber of the 9mm Blackhawk and the firing pin most likely will be too short to set the round off.

So, it won't work.

Kokapelli, looked at the Charter Arms link, looks pretty good & a decent price...
I'm assuming no moon-clips are needed in the 9mm platform, correct?
