Common with with a necked down caliber in revolvers. In this case, the brass which is necked down to fit the throat expands in the throat area and tends to back the brass out of the chamber a bit.

Yea, I know, things like the .44-40 do OK (Go figure), but when I tried necking .44 Mag brass to fit the .44 Spl chamber and throat to get more capacity, if I went too high with the charge weight they backed out.
