Anyone ever had this problem or know the cause. It's one fired brass from Armscor fired from a Glock 20sf. The Hornady sizing die is putting a sharp ridge right at the case head. The ridge goes about 3/4 of the way around.

Bulged brass from high pressure loads in a loose chamber.

Then, a sharp edge on the carbide insert? or whatever it is Hornady puts in their sizing dies?
(titanium nitride “gold ring” finish)

I gave up on them working right and not wearing out too soon many years ago.

You can buy a Lee or Redding 'Bulge Buster' and run them through that first?
To get rid of the bulge before sizing.

Or, you can send the die and some unsized cases & sized back to Hornady ald let them fix the die?

Or both?

The brass may have been fired in a gun with an un-supported barrel (Glocked) and that
crease is formed when You try to Iron out the Bulge with Your sizing die.

Good shooting

Ya, that's a classic example of brass fired from a loose or poorly supported chamber, and then run through the wrong die for the job. A bulge buster die should prevent that condition, but it doesn't help much in terms of case life. Subsequent resizings of brass bulged like this becomes weakened, so a premature blow out is usually imminent.

I recommend buying an after market barrel to extend case life, Wolf is good.

The resizing die is doing it's job.

Can you run some new Armscor brass through the die and compare the pictures ?

If you don't have any, pull a few rounds just to test.

I have the Lee Bulge Buster, these rounds didn't look that badly bulged so I just went for it with the sizing die. Non-bulged cases are still looking a little "scrapped" if that makes sense (kinda like the one on the far right). My plan is to run some un-fired through tonight along with some once fired that I ran through the Bulge Buster and see how they turn out. I'll post the pictures of both to compare. I'll post more picture around 7:00pm AZ time.

Ran about 10 through the bulge buster first and they came out fine. Though, I can't understand how a bulge in the case causes an indented line at the case head. But, that seems to be exactly what it's doing.
