If you buy bulk ammo what are we talking 40 dollar difference between 9 and 40 per 1k ?
I find it funny how, even in the same conversation, some people will call the .40 "short & weak" and complain that the recoil is too snappy.
Went to Wal-Mart just yesterday. .40 S&W ammo there up to their nose. In fact I see NO shortage of any kind with 40 Ammo. Just as many selections.
Cost more that 9mm? Big harry deal. Not that much more to ignore it gives more performance. You ain't gonna go broke feeding a .40, especially if you reload.

If it's an early Glock 22, change the spring. It makes a world of difference with no change in reliability. If your 40 is snappy change the ammo.
I just picked up a FNS 40 with night sights and 3 magazines for $330 from the Georgia Gun Store. $375 after shipping and FFL fees. It's a fantastic gun and a great shooter and has quickly become one of my primary carry guns. I reload, so the cost of ammo is a non issue for me. I'll take these 40 deals as long as they're available.
That's the deal I was thinking of!
I think if they had been the FNX's I might have bit.
Here in New York State, Governor Cuomo has decided that no one needs more than 10 bullets in their hand gun. So before this brilliant piece of legislation became law, I traded in my high capacity 9mm for a 40. the logic being if I'm limited to 10 rounds, they may as well be larger/more powerful than the 9. I became quite used to the 40. I reload for it and cast my own bullets. I now own three 40s and don't intend to sell any of them any time soon. Before the 45ACP crowd goes crazy, I just want to say, I owned a 45 government model years ago, and I just wanted to try something different. Be safe out there!
On the upside you can load the .40 down to below 9mm and it becomes an easy shooting gun that makes bigger holes.
But when His Majesty Cuomo decides that no one needs more than say, seven, rounds, will you go to a .45? Or a .50 GI?
Sorry but here is Texas we really don't like politicians deciding what is good for us.
Deaf[/QUOTE I like your statement Deaf, as far as Cuomo goes, we are looking at land in Idaho.
