I haven't seen anyone post this yet. This is a blog post from the Joshua Prince, of the Prince Law Offices. They are very involved in NFA law, and have been following 41-P closely.

It seems that their interactions with ATF lawyers at a seminar have given them the impression that nothing will happen in May 2015, and that we're probably delayed by another 6 months on new regulations.

I'm of the opinion, based on the money being invested into eForms, that it won't happen at all. But that's just my pet theory.

No matter which way you cut it, this seems to be good news.

Guess ill be broke another six months, i was actually looking forward to saving some money but i guess ill just have to buy some more NFA while i still can.

Thanks for the link Aaron. Good to know that at the very least we have a bit more time.

Thanks for the link. Just read the article and it sounds like good news.

I got a can in the pipeline last week in the event of a May implementation. Oh well, another suppressor isn't a bad thing. ;)

I just set my trust up and the lawyer really used this as a selling point. The dealer never said anything about it while I was ordering my silencer.

Dealers may or may not pay attention to these types of things, but NFA trust attorneys sure do. Still, I have mixed feelings about giving people the hard sell based on the proposed regulations. Even if they're passed, people will still be able to get new trusts and use them. The only thing that's going to change is the amount of paperwork that trusts have to do. Right now, it's less than individuals, but if the new regulations pass, it will be the same as, or slightly more than, individuals, depending on how many trustees you have.

Still, if there are new regulations coming down, getting the applications in process now does probably save you some hassle. But I wouldn't re-mortgage the house just to buy some cans because of it. In fact, I haven't. I haven't applied for a single new stamp since 41-P was announced.
