410 shotgun vs .22 Lr Rifle single shot or 22 mag rifle single shot ?

hello everyone , i am new here , i am disabled and i need advice of a gun to buy for self defense at my house , i am looking to either buy a shot gun 410 or a .22 Lr Rifle single shot , or a 22 mag rifle single shot , i do not want any rime fire because of them jamming , i am not interested in hand guns , which of the three guns would be better for self defense i am not able to handle a 12 or 20 gauge due to the recoil , thank you .

FWIW 22lr and .22 Mag ARE rimfire.

Up until a few years ago I blissfully carried a Charter Arms AR-7 as my Jeep gun. Never needed it for anything other than rabbits, squirrels and coyote. Worked fine.

Then one day while out with my nephew we ran across three fellows in a broken down pickup while off-roading in the local desert. Things started to go south when one of the drunken fools started talking about just taking our/MY Jeep. While my nephew verbally intervened I managed to quickly assemble and load the AR-7. It was enough to shut them up. But it felt so small and inadequate.

After that I decided to build "The Perfect Jeep Gun". I started with my boyhood Mossberg .410 model 500. I trimmed the barrel. Bought a youth butt stock and then removed the butt plate. The butt plate was reattached with industrial strength velcro. The stock screw was lengthened and a "butterfly" added to the end. I now takes down into three parts. Stores in only a slightly longer package than the AR-7 and assembles about as fast.

But, with five .410 slugs it would stand up against human critters much better.

I liked the idea so much I made "The Perfect Truck Gun". The same principle only out of a Franchi 48L 20 ga. semiauto.

For comparison, here is the AR-7 and Mossberg 500.

FWIW when it comes to self defense I’d take a semi-auto that might jam over a single shot that's guaranteed to only get one round off without need for a reload.
