Yeah, I was going to say the 5 shot Taurus .44 is probably best suited for hot .44 Special, not full power .44 Mag. I'm sure the gun can hold up to it, but the lower weight doesn't make for a pleasant experience.
 
Four inch? A whole lot of muzzle blast. I'd probably buy it. I have the 431 44 special and wish it had and sights. My long gone 4" 29 cured me of short magnums as a regular diet. My magnums that get used the most have 6", 6 1/2, and 7 1/2" barrels.
 
You got a great deal on that. I had one just like it.

Funny story on that. I shot it in a local range that had standard incandescent bulbs in each lane's range light directly in front of and above the firing line.

I didn't finish the first cylinder before the bulb shattered...assuming it was overpressure from the compensator ports.

Buy it I had a 357 tracker wish I would have kept it but as my father used to say money talks and BS walks so I took a $100.00 more than I paid for it. I do have a Raging Bull 8.5 inch barrel in 44 magnum and love it.
 
I think you did good on that one, I would have bought it myself, I have a 357 Tracker and really like it. 44 will be next!

I bought it! I need a .44 mag / special test gun for my 6-Gun series

Amen this. I had one and fired exactly five (5) rounds of magnum ammo in it, but it was a great 44 Special gun. I traded it off for a 4" Model 29 but there was nothing at all I didn't like about that Tracker.
