Say one has an abundance of Pyrodex RS...
Say one has an abundance of empty 45-70 shells...
Say one has a Ruger #1 to whack them through when re-filled...

Can Pyrodex RS be used volume for volume for FFg in cartridges? correct or at least functional lube? (I'm OUT of Goex FFg BTW)

Just loaded up 50 rounds of smokeless, 46.5 grains of Re-7 under each of the following...500 gr RNFP LaserCast, 446 gr Liberty FN and 405 gr Liberty FN.

Discovered that the Liberty 500 gr RNFP is a bit too fat for the throating of the #1 (knew I made up a dummy on each bullet for a reason.) Round stalls about 1/2 short of fully chambered and requires the services of the range rod to remove it!

That bullet will fit in my Marlin 1895 with its Ballard rifling...but its a single load through the ejection port and cannot be UNloaded without disassembling the rifle or firing the round. (dont ask how I know this)
