.45 ACP and holster for CCW?

Too many choices to make a general announcement.....

I started with a Series 70 Government Model and a Bianchi Pistol Pocket. Later got a Commander and a Summer Special. When the Officer's came 'round, I tried a few of them....still have a lightly customized LW that I carry around CCW(and a ParaLDA Companion too, but that is another story) in a Milt Sparks VersaMax 2H.
I too like the idea of a Commander slide mated to an Officer's frame and was looking around for a good used Colt CCO or, maybe, a Kimber Compact. I found a immaculate condition CCO, late production for $499 and dropped down a deposit. Will pick in up on April Fool's Day(just works out that way). Have to get a holster, test it out, qualify with it and wait till the paper work goes though the mill of the admin-types before I can carry it CCW...but I think it's do me just fine.
Now I have tried alot of other types of handgun and a few experimental wanderings in caliber, BUT now I stick with the .45 ACPalot of power with out brutal recoil) and the single stack 1911 format....I am used to it, it 'feels' right, it is thin, pretty easy to hide and is a very accurate and effective self defense platform.
In my mind a reliable 1911, set up the way you like it in a comfortable IWB setting on a good, thick gunbelt CANNOT be beat!! The only problem nowadays is picking which 1911 to start with!! But never fear, you'll buy more!!
