.45 ACP Rifle

I have a Macon Armory Direct Impingement 45acp upper on a dedicated Glock mag Lower.

Rudy is the guy I talked to and he made a custom Cutt's style compensator pin/welded for a just-over 16" barrel.

I have been loving it. I have been getting consistent hits on 8" steel plates at 100yrds.

I have been meaning to get some pics and might tackle that tonight.

Same here. I have a Mauser action and stock set waiting for me to order one of their kits.

I used one of those kits, and my experience has been consistent with other folks'. One writer called it a "fun little headache" and I can say that this statement is pretty accurate. You get feed issues unless you run it just right, and accuracy is nothing to write home about.

But it is fun...and it begs to have a suppressor attached.

But I still have one more! And it's not Kriss or Vector Uzi! Behold, the H&R Model 60:
And, unlike the full-autos in military service, the 60 was an entirely satisfactory arm. Hard to find, though. Magazines are expensive and near unicorns.
Which is a shame, the Model 60 is a handy little thing, wither reasonably decent magazines.

Now, for 2¢, give that DeLisle by Valkyrie a good look. They look funky, but carry pretty well--at least the ones I was able to examine.

If lever guns are your thing, codyscowboyshop can convert 1873 repros to shoot .45ACP. It's not cheap, but another possibility. For extra money you can also have it slicked up and short stroked ;)

I don't understand how that is supposed to work. Isn't the 1873 only capable of working of cartridges of one specific length? But the .45 ACP is much shorter than .45 LC. Do modern 1873 rifles differ from the original .44-40 Winchester 1873 in this regard?

I rather liked the look of .45 ACP Carbine based on the 1903 Springfield in Hatcher's Notebook.

The Rhinelands are tempting, but what with two left hands and all thumbs.... Jessesky's is the prettiest I have seen.

Anyone know how much weight difference there is between the Rhineland military contour barrel and the Sporter?

Honestly the Marlin Camp 45 is something I wishida back in the day.

No, but the conversion does. I presume he goes about it similar to the .45 Cowboy conversion, a cartridge stop added inside the carrier. See pictures at:

C.E. Harris once converted a Marlin lever action to .45 ACP. Twice, actually; I read that he sold the first one and did another because he liked the combination so well. He would not even chronograph hardball because he did not want anybody to get the idea of putting a roundnose FMJ up against a primer in a tube magazine.

...16 gr of blue dot

How does that much BlueDot even fit in a .45 case? That’s a stout load in a .45LC. A very nice rifle, I like it.

Lots of options today, but I’ll stick to my Camp 45. I purchased it new in ~1998 and after the two required mods it has performed great for me. Even shot deer and a hog with the Hornady 200XTP @ 1250 fps. A very accurate load BTW, under 1 moa average for four 5-shot groups at 50 yards.

You can fit it but it is compressed. The bullet is also seated out a bit further than may function in a 1911. Primers were flat being pistol primers, but I knew the action could take it. I marked all cartridges with a red X as not to be used in a 1911. The brass was thicker than normal acp brass as well. I’d get around 1700fps with the 200gr hollow points. An 800fps increase over standard 45acp isn’t too bad in my book! Thanks for the compliments guys.

I believe that Thompson did this with the Model 1927A? But I guess it depends on what the range is from your target.

I think the CMMG Guard in .45 ACP would be pretty cool. It seems like it won't run hollow point ammo but they all fall to hardball, right?;)

The USC is awesome! I had one for years with the intention of doing a USC-to-UMP conversion but got cold feet over putting $1500 into a gun that already cost $1600. When I sold it though I made a couple hundred bucks. There's a new clone of the UMP that looks really outstanding and uses regular UMP mags if that's something you're interested in.

Just checked out shot show previews they aren’t saying anything about it yet be we will know for sure in a few days.
