I’m building an upper in 450 Bushmaster. Any data/recommendations would be appreciated. My barrel is 1-24 mid length 18”. Bought a couple boxes of Hornady 250gr FTX to get me started.
I did not realize they made an XL. I see they have one even larger, for 458 (though they advertise the XL to work with 458).Waiting on the stripped upper to arrive, and it should be here by Saturday. I ordered an Aero XL because of the larger ejection port. Also bought a Toolcraft BCG, and a KAW Valley linear comp. Optics will include a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40 scope and PEPR Mount. This is my first big bore AR, and I’m excited!
I’ve been using Aero lowers a lot lately. Found a vendor at the N.C. gun shows that sells the gen II’s for $60 OTD. They’re a snug fit with all my uppers.I did not realize they made an XL. I see that have one even larger, for 458 (though they advertise the XL to work with 458).
I just bought one of their M4E1 enhanced uppers, because of the way the handguard mounts. I liked it so much, I ended getting their lower for it as well.
I was wondering about H110 with the 450. I’ve got a few pounds for my .357 magnum, and it’s good to know I can use it.From my 16 inch barrel 38 grains of Lil Gun pushes a 250 FTX to 2180fps
39.5 grains H110 with the same bullet gets just under 2100fps.
No pressure signs with either. So far Lil Gun is more accurate but not by much.

That is a good price. The one I just got (locally, too!) was the M4E1 lower. Basically like the Gen II but has the trigger guard built in. I like them because of the tensioning screw under the grip.I’ve been using Aero lowers a lot lately. Found a vendor at the N.C. gun shows that sells the gen II’s for $60 OTD.
