Any of you guys ever shoot one of 5.7 pistols?? If so which one and what was your impression?
This one ? https://www.omahaoutdoors.com/ruger-57-20-rd-57x28mm-pistol/I have shot a Ruger 5.7. put around three rounds through it when a range lane neighbor offered to let me shoot it.
I was impressed, certainly not a small pistol, but a delight to shoot with light recoil and felt good in hand.
I'm far from a trigger snob, but I can tell the difference between a horrible trigger and a decent trigger at the minimum. In my opinion the 5.7 Ruger trigger was more than just acceptable it was good.
In The fantasy world where I have lots more hobby disposable income, it is one that would be on the list.
The FN is pretty pricey still, I wondered how it was to fire.Shot FN 5.7. I liked it, but I would never pay the price for it. This was years ago before the Ruger.
Very light recoil. Very accurate. It would have been a gem if it actually has a good trigger.
Honestly, I'd prefer a 22tcm 1911.
Just not worth the trouble IMHO
I got a PMR 30 2 years ago ,7 mags and 4k rds. of gold dot short barrel for the price of the FN. I really wanted the 5.7 but just couldnt justify the cost.If just for fun shooting, a Kel-Tec PMR-30 could be a really cheap alternative, both gun and ammo. 22 mag shot out of a light-weight short-barrelled pistol can produce an impressive amount of noise, flame and smoke.
I also have a PMR30 with MCARBO upgrades and that is a hoot to shoot and a darn sight cheaper too...but ballistics do not compare to the FN 5.7. Nice weapon.
