I've started loading for my S&W 500 and find components and data plentiful. However, I picked up a box of Cor-Bon .500 S&W Special. Brass is shorter and loaded to a lower velosity. I shot them up and would like to reload this brass however I have been unable to find any published load data on this Special round. Does anyone know of any sources? Thanks

I would guess that any of the light plinker loads for the .500 S&W Magnum would be fine. Taffin published a bunch of loads in Handgunner. Don't quote me but I think one of them was about 16 grains of titegroup under a 350 grain bullet. (I'd double check that). I'll try to go check my data tomorrow. There's so much airspace in a light .500 S&W Magnum load that I'd think it'd be find to use the same data in the "Special" . . .assuming the brass is built the same.

Have a good one,
Dave

Thanks Dave.

I was planning to try one of the 500 mag starting loads. It's just that I like to see something published by a reputable source before I begin.
