51% Signs in TX ????

Washinton makes it a lot more simple and clear cut, you can't carry in any place where you have to be 21 to enter.

Pen, I think I'm the guilty one to suggest that, especially the signs by the airport in Saint Tony's. It is working. The last time I stayed in Saint Tony's I stayed at that hotel on the Riverwalk thingie. On Sunday morning I was exercising on that patio dohickey and two soccermommies from austejas were clucking about how glad they were that those awful, awful gun owners could not take their guns here or there to defend themselves or soccermommies.

It took real control not to be a buttinski--"Nah, nah, nah-nah. They don't count! It's pablum for the likes of you, parasites!"

However, in the years that I've gone down to Tejas, I've seen the signs change and wither away.

If you see this sign, hit the brakes, do an about face and return to point of origin.

Ran into this sign today as a matter of fact. At the facility the Second Amendment Foundation had their Seminar. Odd isnt it?

The Cheesecake Factory in San Antonio (Northstar Mall on 410) also has a 51% sign - though only at the outside entrance, not the one from the mall. They do have a bar, but I don't see how they could possibly derive 51% of their revenue from liquor sales - they serve LOTS of meals at not-terribly-cheap prices, and they just about have to be under 51%. I often wonder if I should contact corporate HQ to get a per store breakdown of liquor sales (perhaps posing as a student doing a research paper), just to see. In the meantime, I always make it a point to walk in through the mall entrance, so that I can say "I didn't see any 51% sign" IF I am ever caught carrying there.

Comments are welcome.

I would presume that it has to be posted at all entrances right?

I'm suprised that the malls dont have them. I am assuming they do not.

Any other major places in SA that have them?

The outside entrance is next to the Bar so they have to have the 51% sign in that area of the restaurant only.

I can't go into TGI fridays and legally sit at the bar while carrying but I can sit down at a booth and order a meal and a beer.

Go figure

I don't beleive that is correct. If they accurately post a 51% sign, you can't carry anywhere on the premises.

Sam, an establishment is required to post the 51% sign by TABC but if it isn't posted or you fail to notice it, you cannot use that as a defense from prosecution. You would still be guilty under the law. Be very careful.

Best.
