Just got a new Mossy 590A1 and wanted to do a proper cleaning before heading to the range.

Okay, now I've tried every possible combination of bolt location, pull vs. push, and other variables, but I cannot remove the trigger assembly as described in the fits all models manual.

Anyone have a problem like this on their 590A1?

you need to drift the pin out, and some stocks will block you from taking the trigger guard out until you remove the stock.

Thanks for the advise! I had removed the drift pin, but didn't look to see if the stock blocks the removal of the assembly. Will try tomorrow.

You do not need to remove the speed feed stock on a 590a1 to remove the trigger group.

1. Make sure safety is in ON (i.e. SAFE) position - this moves it internally to the rear and prevents it from snagging on the trigger group for removal / installation.

2. Cycle the action to clear the weapon and leave the action in the closed position. This obviously cocks the hammer which keeps it out of the way for assembly / disassembly.

3. Remove the receiver trigger group retaining pin with a proper size punch - should almost come out with hand pressure only.

4. Lift the rear of the trigger group up and out first, which allows the front of the trigger group to rotate off the trigger group "lugs" and be released from the receiver.
