I'm looking at loading up some rounds for a buddy's 6.5mm Arisaka rifle. I'm relatively new to reloading so I'm looking for suggestions from those who've loaded 6.5mm Japanese on brass, bullets, and powders you've used successfully. Any other general tips on loading these rounds would be welcome.

I used Prvi brass with good results. My rifles barrel is trash so I never played with it a whole lot but reloading was fairly straight forward.

You may find that milsurp rifles have generous chambers and you will rapidly wear out hard to find brass if your die is not a close match. Having a die made with fired cases is a good choice in this senero. If it were me I would use cast bullets and a powder like reloader 7 or 4198. You may also find 4227 useful.

Best advice... DON'T DO IT !! Loading for others is not only illegal, the personal liability is off the charts.

YOU may have a good relationship with your "buddy", but his widow (and her lawyer) will have no qualms about taking your home and all your savings to "console" her in her loss.
Just saying.

The only reasonable way in my mind is to have said friend over and load them together. They always load powder.
