Ok guys I recently acquired a upper in 6.8 spc II and was wanting to know do any of y'all load for it if so any tips tricks advise is welcomed

Yep old I am a member there I was just curious if anybody loads for it here I like it at both forums so I thought I'd ask

I still shoot spec I but have several ziplock bags with loads to try, just haven't gotten the time. Most of the loads were from 6.8forums. I will have to check out the Hodgdon's information on it.

Yea, I've been reloading 6.8 SPC for a couple of years, I couldn't afford to shoot it otherwise.

I use it primarily for feral hog hunting...it has become my go-to for that.

For some reason, I've found my AR Performance 6.8 to be very finicky about compressing powders. Every time i start to compress even a little, the groups open up like crazy. Although I've never used small rifle magnum primers before, some post from the forum convinced me to give it a try.

Cases do not seem to grow as much as .223 or 30-06. I find after the first reload, I rarely have to trim again

I load for my ARP 6.8 SPC. Mainly target shoot with the Hdy 110gr match bullets, but have taken a buck with a 95gr TTSX and a 180lb hog with a 120gr SST. I bought an 8lb jug of AA2200 and that is the only powder I have used in 6.8. It seems to meter fantastic and work with the full range of bullet weights used in 6.8.
I still need to get around to working up loads for some 100gr Accubonds and some 85gr etips I picked up off of Shooter Pro Shop. I've read several people have discovered you can't push the etips too fast else they result in poor accuracy. Good for mid-range velocity/loads.
