Are there any modern offerings for this yet? The only guns I know of are the PPSh variety and don't even know if a semi version is available. It seems to me that the cartridge is better suited to carbine than 9mm or .40 and I can still afford to shoot it.
An M1 carbine would be nice or even the Hi-point. Would x25 feed out of a G20 magazine for the Sub2k to use?

I don't know of anyone making one*, but i don't know why. Enough people ask for it...

*There is a company making a 7.62x25 AR-15, that work?

A type 79 sub gun uses it IIRC. Good luck getting one in the US though. No idea if it would feed through the G20 mag though, but a 10mm case is a bit longer than 7.62 Tok., the only problem I can think of would be the case diameter (10mm>7.62x25mm). I feel pretty confident that an M1 mag would NOT feed 7.62x25mm due to the larger case and shorter OAL, but there again I have never tried it. The 7.62 Tok. is a good round about like a scaled down .357Sig, and I think it would make a great sub gun/carbine cartridge. For a pistol I think it does nothing that a bigger, slower thumper can't perform better. GL, Mav.

My understanding of the 7.62x25 round is it has a longer maximum OAL (1.36") then 10mm (1.26"), 9x25 dillion (1.25"), etc. Thus, most 1911's frames are too short in the grip to reliably fit the 7.62TT round. As for modern carbines in 7.62TT, there's a company that makes a semi-auto 16" PPSh knockoff, as well as a 16" PPS knockoff too.

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=128772705 PPS "carbine" stock is permanently welded in the closed position, thus it is considered a pistol.

One can also get a "7.62 Mauser" chamber insert for .30-06 or .308 rifles.

Wouldn't hold my breath. It's been under construction for over half a year, that I know of...

I think it has...but i have heard that people have recieved their orders, or perhaps that was another company.

You are correct, I apologize for spreading the disease that is bad information. I looked up the case length for 10mm, and knew the 7.62 to be 25mm (golly i'm smart) and used that. A short cut that yielded poor information, as the case may be longer but the bullet is seated further into the case...making me WRONG. :uhoh:

I just tried 7.62x25 in one of my Carbine mags.

IT FITS!
I got to about 6 when I could hear from the spring that the follower is tilting a bit further than it usually does.
BUT
THe rounds did NOT feed when pushed from the rear. Pushing the case rim from the rear yielded the front diving into the front of the mag. The M1 Carbine mag is a bit too long for it.

Now, once you get down to three rounds, they did go out the front by pushing from the rear.

There is a gunsmith in Ft. Myers making some absolutely awesome looking AK's in 7.62x25. I was looking at one just a few days ago, based on a Krink kit. He does all my custom work so if anyone is SERIOUS about the gun, contact me directly and I'll get you his number. But PLEASE don't call and waste his time. He has a very small shop and anytime on the phone answering goofy questions slows down the work, delays the builds and takes $$ out of his pocket.
Serious I-have-a-pile-of-cash-in-my-hand buyers only.

One of these days (years?) I do plan to build myself a 7.62x25 AK. I've got all the parts for a build - PPSh41 mags and drums, a magwell for them that is sized to fit in an AK receiver, PPS43 or Mosin barrels, Uzi front trunnion (to make a QD barrel setup), Tapco FCG, Tantal bolt and bolt carrier (the 5.45 bolt face is nearly identical to 7.62x25), and miscellaneous other AK parts (stock, trunnions, top cover, etc). It's a harder build than a normal AK (lots of custom fitting, obviously), but shouldn't be too overwhelming. The biggest modification needed is to fix the bolt in place and not allow it to rotate, as it would operate as an unlocked blowback action.

I would LOVE to get my hands on a 7.62x25 AR upper that uses PPS mags! In place of that I picked up a 7.63 mauser to .308 chamber adapter from ACE and loving shooting my low recoil, $.08/shot Ishy enfield at 75-100 yards:)

an Ishapore 2A in 7.62tok would be great!

So would an AK.

Wouldn´t mind a long barreled lever-action in
that caliber either!

a hi-point carbine in that caliber
would be a neat cheap solution.
New ww2 looking stocks for it.... perfect.

I'm still amazed this round went away. I held one in my hand for the first time, in a long time yesterday and it made me smile.

I just got a tin in so I can play with my new TTC. It is one serious pistol round, that is for sure.

Will it feed, or do you single load?

The chamber adapter must be loaded each shot, but it really is no big deal. Open the bolt, and the adapter ejects just like a regular .308 case. About 50% of the time the spent tok round drops free. When it does not I slide an old philips head screw driver into the open end of the adapter and give the spent round a shove!

One of the local guys got a AR running in 7.62x25. I don't recall if he went gas operated or blowback. He's using Czech subgun mags and each one has to be handfitted to work.

He's a machinist and made the adapter block himself as well as the other parts. BSW

I really don't see the point in a pistol, if it were not bottlenecked it would have more energy and a larger wound cavity. It is similar to the .357Sig it simply does nothing a bigger round can't. I think it is an ideal round for a sub-gun, it's light, small, low recoil and with a better trajectory than most other pistol rounds. But for a pistol, bleh.

It's better than 5.7x28, that's for sure.

I'd buy a P-90 in 7.62x25. That'd be really impressive, I'm sure.

Agreed, a really useless pistol IMHO, and people talk about a cheap feel in a AR...

I am with you on that; I wish they made it in any standard pistol round (7.62Tok or .357Sig would be ideal). ;)

Hell, I'd buy a Glock in that caliber...out of a 5 -6 inch barrel in a modern gun....Yeah ;I can definitely seea hi-capacity gun in that caliber. Especially one strong enough for the "warmer " loadings.
And after the Glock? The CCU ( you listening Mechtech??)...
Anjy here recall the Russian pistol trials, where they were projecting/requesting designs that could be convertible between 9x19,9x18 and/or 7.62x25??Something like a modern ,reformatted Stectchkin APS???
Man, a semi-only inport or US build like THAT would top my "I WANT!" list.

7.62x25mm would be (IMO) perfect for a PDW. 10" barrel...who needs (or wants) 5.7mm?

I've fantasized about a 7.62x25mm single-stack Glock for years. Of course, I've also wanted the same thing in 10mm, too! Make a 5" barrel standard, and you can always buy a 6.5" aftermarket barrel. Yummy! :D

Really, a downsized Kel-Tec RFB in 7.62x25mm, with 16" barrel, would be incredibly neat, handy, and would penetrate like the dickens if you didn't use expanding ammo.
