7.62x39 ammo?

Anyone have any thoughts on where all the 7.62x39 ammo has gone. Most (basically all) suppliers are out of Wolf, Brown Bear, Silver Bear... etc Only high cost "premium" ammo left.

Is this some sort of conspiracy?

Is it some kind of plot on who knows part to raise the price?

Is some agency trying to dwindle the supplies of the "militia"?

Just some thoughts...

Anybody have any facts?
 
Yeah, I heard there was a war or something going on. You'd think something like that would make the news but you know how the media are.......
 
A certain South American leader (Chavez of Venezuela) bought, like, all of it. This is the current theory. The number I heard tossed around was 100,000 AKs and a cool BILLION rounds of Wolf.

I wonder what the discount it like when buying that much ammo?!
 
Clark Guns in Bossier City, LA got in one case of Wolf on Friday morning. I bought it ten minutes after it arrived - and was doubtless cursed by other customers for the rest of the day! :D
 
I just found a case of Wolf fmj at the bottom of my driveway (thanks, Brown! :) ) It cost me though-$149 shipped from ammoman. Just checked and he's out of stock again.

For $170, I think I will pass! I still have a few cases so I plan on waiting out the price gougers.:)

I bought my last cases for $72 OTD. I guess those price are gone for at least a few years.:( Should have bought more but I can only carry so much.;)

Damn .. maybe I should go buy that half-case at the local gunshow of Wolf for $82 tomorrow. There was a guy walking around the show trying to sell a case of Chinese made 7.62 for $120.

I think there were at least 3 ammo dealers selling cases of Wolf at the WAC show in PUyallup yesterday. $149-150/1000, every single one.

I picked up 400 rounds of Cheetah for $80; they had a case of 1440 left (after I bought 400) plus about 1000 rounds in loose boxes. $280 for the case.

Also picked up a case of Czech silvertip 7.62x54R for $75. At the rate I'm getting to the range, that's about a 8-10 year supply.

I ordered mine on 01/04 and received it on 01/20. It was backordered with an expected delivery date of 02/13. $173/2000 delivered.

Just lucky, I guess.
