I went into Cabela's last night on the way home from work and they had white boxes of 7.62x39 ammo in boxes of 20 for $4.99 a box. Pretty darn

On looking at the ammo it appears to be Brown Bear 7.62x39 put into a different box. It is polymer coated steel case ammo like Wolf and Brown Bear. I don't give a hoot about the box as long as I get a good price.

I cannot testify that ALL Cabela's have this brand at this price, but they might.

Just thought I would let everyone know.

Yep I just looked at ClassicArms and they do have 9mm and 45ACP. Wolf is usually the only current production brand they carry.

Barbarsic-Wolf brand? How is this brand? I see it all over now but remember when I first saw it it was 2.95 for a box of 20. It comes in hollow points and FMJ in 7.62 it looks like it's from the military or made for them when you look at the ugly casings.

It's cheap but very dirty ammo. I've used it in my SKS and AK-47, weapons that can eat whatever you throw at them. I've heard of people having some jams when feeding the Wolf .223 through an AR-15. However if you clean your weapons after every range trip Wolf is an affordable practice ammo.

That AK will eat anything. By dirty ammo you mean Those Wolf bullets are corrosive? Those .223 AR's are prone to jamming unlike the AK.
Is Wolf the same company that supplied the military with those same dirty rounds?

Wolf is from Russia with love and they say it's non-corrosive bit it mildly is if you leave the residue in your weapon. Not the most accurate stuff out there but for the price its great plinking ammo.

I don't believe they supply any armed forces outside of Russia.

It sounds like the ammo they use in their military. It even looks like military grade ammo from their military. Not match grade quality doesn't have to be to kill the enemy. It will get the job done.

Academy has carried 7.62x39 Monarch (Barnaul/Brown Bear) for $5.69/20 throughout the ammo craze...

How good is the Tula 7.62x39 ? $200 is hard to beat unless you guys think brown bear and the others are going that low (or lower)
