7.62X39 bolt action rifle for target shooting.

I saw the Remington and don't think that I'd buy it, and the CZ also seems a little bit light in weight.
I do own 2 Ruger M77 bolt actions and a Century Arms small ring Mauser bolt action with a Wilson barrel in 7.62X39, and they both shoot surplus ammo about the same. They'll both hit a clay bird glued onto a target board at 100 yards most of the time.
I know that's not serious target shooting, but once you start shooting them and hitting the target with only an inexpensive hunting scope, then the cheap and plentiful ammo is appreciated.
There's something about bolt actions in general that make any one of them psuedo-target rifles. Even some better caliber rifles shooting surplus ammo won't do very much better, and at least the 7.62X39 round has some omph! to it.
I really like my rifles, and I would recommend the Ruger M77 if you can find one. Some bullets shoot better than others, but it's not the accuracy that makes shooting targets with one of them fun, it's the rifle and the round.
If I didn't have these, I might buy one of the other models. But if you hold out for a Ruger, you won't regret it unless you really want a match gun.
I met someone who hand loaded lead bullets and he said that the Century Arms shot them better than the Ruger. So it's not all just about the price, it's about what you get for the money spent.

Thanks arcticap, I'll see what the availability of the Ruger M77 is, interesting low dollar way to go.
