Anyone like 7mm 08 over tcu ? I Want a new barrel . Dose anybody have both??

Depends on what you're going to be shooting.
Metallic silhouette? 7TCU.
Hunting? 7-08.

I like the TCU but I have an encore .I 'll probably go with 08 , the brass is easier to get.

When I lived out West Silhouette was still a big event and Xp-100s and TCs were all the rage. I saw some XPs with 7-08 and 308 barrels; they must have been quite the handful

In a Contender, I like my 7mm International Rimmed Super 14 barrel over a 7 TCU.

If I had a bolt handgun, 7mm IHMSA would be a good round.

Of the two the, 7-08 gets the nod. The TCU can be a pain to load. You need soft primers and the headspace has to be nearly perfect. To be honest, I would prefer the 7-30 Waters.

I’ve got a T/C Carbine/barrel in 7-30Waters, and a Rem Mod-7 in 7mm08.
Apples to Oranges.

Deer, pigs, all day walkabout, the Contender is a joy.
Serious elk hunt hiking, glassing, stalking, 7mm08 all the way.
Horse back hunting? .300RUM...

Many mango seasons ago I shot pistol silhouette matches with a xp100 in 7-08, 30-223 and a t/c in 7 tcu. The 7-08 & 7 tcu are hand full. You know when you pull the trigger. The 30-223 was not and the wife used it during matches.
