I recently picked up a LEO trade in 870. Apparently, the officers of the Sacramento PD also use the beads of their 870s as hammers. :)

While currently usable, I'd like to replace it.

Are the 870 beads press fit? I seem to recall they were. The shotgun is a 1980's vintage Wingmaster.

Looks like the majority of replacement options are for tapped barrels.

Tried a few searches, but didn't get far.

My 870P is a trade-in of late '80s vintage, and its bead is pressed in. I would imagine yours is also, it's been going on for a good while now. Drilling and tapping with a 6/48 hole would be a good idea if there isn't one already holding the bead.

I have one of MTM's tritium replacement beads for mine, to be installed on my next visit to The Wizard. It needs to be drilled and tapped too.

Thanks.

I wanted to get something decent up front. As soon as my forearm shows up and I get this new bead installed, I'll have this hand me down up and ready for it's new lease on life. :)
