Are going for 149 dollars in the lastest catalog. These are trade ins and only take 2.75" shells. Some with pistols grip, some with synthetic stock. Thought I'd post this for guys who are just looking for a blaster. :)

Arg! When I moved I didn't leave a forwarding address for CDNN! Must get catalog! :D

Dangit Denny, I was about to call my wife and tell her I finally figured out what I wanted for Christmas. :p

Larry, Larry, Larry!

You need to check the shotgun forum more often. I posted about the deal CDNN had here while they had them thar fowling pieces available:

I bought two. One for Flint for Christmas and one because you can never have too many 870's. Not trying to rub in in or anything (yeah, right), but they are pristine. Appear to have been carried in a car a lot, but handled and shot very little.

Denny, I hit the shotgun forum every day. I don't know how on earth I missed that. Or maybe I saw it and blanked it out because I was broke at the time. Who knows. The last police surplus 870 I picked up was $185 and that was a screaming good deal. Now I can only seem to find them for $220 or so.

"... And because you can never have too many 870s"....

Glad to see I'm not the only one thinking this.....

Any 870 that hasn't been run over by a truck or used as an anchor is worth $150, DV.

And the thing about turnins is quite simple. Cruiser and tower guns get shot little but neglected and banged around much. Almost always they look like trash outside, but are near new inside.

Even if you get the dept trainer, 870s are so darn durable that it matters little.

One 870 at my old institution went on line for training in 1981. When I retired in 98 it was still the trainer, firing hundreds of rounds a month. Maintenance had been spotty. Total new parts, were new lumber.

Two here were agency weapons. My deer shooter started life as an Arlington Va, cruiser gun. Frankenstein, my overpublicized parts gun, has a receiver and some smaller parts that started off at the Md Pen.

I'd trust my life to either...

45R, are you sure that these are police trade-ins?
I just downloaded CDNN's lastest catalog and they make no mention of them being police trade-ins.

Irregardless, I think I'll order one up.

Jim
