So I have a gun that was handed down from my Grandfather. Just wondering if I have a nice collector's item or not. It is a 8mm Mauser that my Grandfather bought at a gun show and my father built the stock around. It has all the original metal parts, just not the wooden stock. There are a few stamps on it, but the most notable ones have the Nazi Germany Eagle/swastika on the reciever and barrel. Any idea if this is worth more than the normal 8mm I've been seeing?

depends on condition also...bore..which plant it was made, year, ect.all matching numbers certainly brings more worth.

Ive seen a collector ask a grand for some of the ones in his collection and southern ohio gun selling russian capture mausers for just alil over a hundred bucks.mausers are great shooters, many a custom gun has been built on old ww2 german mausers.

somewhere there is a forumn dedicated to german mausers that has dates for all the codes stamped on these guns.they are notorious for stamping each and every single part with a number.good luck.

It's impossible to say with this amount of information. I also can't tell if you're saying your dad changed the stock. If so there's probably no collectors value left at all. If you can't post photos take a detailed notation of all the receiver and barrel markings.
