I was watching a you tube video today about turning 9.3x74 brass into .410 shot gun shells, has any one here done that? I have 100 unfired unprimed9.3x74r cases.
There was also a video about using .444 Marlin cases but they were only 2 1/4" long

I’ve reloaded 444 Marlin cases for .410 quite a bit in the past but would mirror the advice above: sell the 9.3x74R brass and buy 410 hulls. Components for brass cases for 410 are a more difficult fit and you are unlikely to find a gas seal and shot cup that make for a good fit, meaning they won’t pattern as well. If you are dead set on brass, sell the 9.3x74 cases and buy Magtech brass 410. They are designed for black powder reloading but you might be able to make them work with smokeless.

Well I have had 99 brand new 9.3x74 Norma cases and 100 FMJ bullets up for sale on another forum for 6 months, crickets.

Remember that the 2.5 inch 410 shell is only ~2.25 inches long when crimed. Shell lengths are for the fired, uncrimped hull to final loaded length is always shorter than nominal and varies a lot with payload and crimp.

I tried both 303 British and 444 Marlin brass to make all brass 410 shell and have never gotten satisfying results. I even tried reloading the Barnual steel cases... If you really want brass 410 hulls I would just buy them from Magtech as other have pointed out. In the end after lots of playing I went back to Winchester HS hulls for most of my 410 usage. They last, they take a good crimp and just work. Winchester HS for all my shot shells and Cheddite for my slugs loads since the roll crimp is pretty hard on 410 hulls I only use them once or twice.

I have made cases from 444, 303 Brit and 30-40. Mainly used in my Contender. Fire form before using for real. I once cut some 444 down to cylinder length to fit my Super Blackhawk when exploring in snake country. Had to file flats on the rim to get them to chamber. Top wad held in with waterglass (sodium silicate).
