92SB retrofit

Ok, I have acquired a 92sb Model M compact. Now, I read the thread about Beretta failures and have taken that info into consideration ... I will wear a full racing helmet when I shoot my beretta.

But, can an 92SB be retrofit with the hammer pin/slide stop of the 92FS? If so, does this gun need to go to beretta?

Also, is there a chance that this was already performed and how could I tell?

Can't answer your question but the vast majority of SB models have never had a problem. The breakages all occured on guns being used by the military...hmmmmm...

The SB-F version or F versions (and I thinks a specifice lot) had the issues but the older SB's do not seem to have had the same issues, but if you scared of your gun I will take it off your hands For $100 so you can sleep better
