Edit: Correct typo in OAL!

For the 147gr Missouri Bullet hard cast TCFP bullet I use 3.7gr Unique with OAL 1.120" and any standard small pistol primer I could find -- I've used: Wolf, Tula, Winchester, Magtech, CCI, & Remington over the years without issues. I typically shoot 800-1600 a month of it, mostly through my M&P Shield, Kahr CW9, M&P9, and RIA 9mm 1911.

Its a little "smokey" because of the lube (the same load with a 147gr plated bullet is cleaner than the low end factory loads). Unique is said to be "dirty" but I find it to be a "sooty" dirt that is easy to just wipe off with a patch of Hoppes -- I go well over 1000 rounds in most pistols (ones that can't quickly become safe queens) before I feel the need for an actual takedown for cleaning.

Disclaimer: Following post lists loads not in currently published load data - Use them at your own risk.

These were shot with 147 gr lead FP using 1.155"-1.160" OAL and Glock 22 with 9mm conversion barrel - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/9mm-147-gr-lead-bullet-powder-comparison.748940/

I referenced current Hodgdon online load data, 2004 Alliant load data and 1999 Winchester load data to conduct my load development.

3.5 gr W231/HP-38 has been my reference load with 147 gr bullet. Using Red Dot load data for Promo by weight (as indicated by Alliant), 3.1-3.5 gr Promo worked for 147 gr lead bullet with 3.3-3.5 gr producing greater accuracy (like Red Dot/Unique, I can only meter Promo with +/- .2 gr variance).

Bullseye downloads well and 2.7-3.2 gr worked with 3.2 gr producing greater accuracy.

Many post Titegroup to be not friendly with lead but 3.1-3.5 gr worked with 3.5 gr producing greater accuracy.

I was hard-up for 9mm powder during the shortage and I ended up trying some SR4756 under 147 gr lead. They shot great. I settled on 4.4 gr, if I remember correctly.

Dave -
You can use any 9mm load data you find for 147gr lead bullets. There is not enough difference in the 2 weights to matter.

Hope this helps.

I want to thank ALL of you guys sincerely for sharing your hard won data with me. Had found very little available in my manuals as most choose the 115 gr. bullet. Sure is nice to have such prompt and sensible feedback from you guys. Much appreciated. Be well and have a Merry Xmas!
