Was given about 30 rounds of factory 9MM+P ammunition, Cor-Bon, R-P, FC, all head stamped as I listed. Not using 9MM much and I know I've never fired a factory loaded round(I load my own) What is the difference in pressure levels between standard and +P 9MM Luger, Parabellum, etc.? Whatever pretentious name is hung on it.

9mm, 9 mm parabellum, 9mm luger, 9x19 - all the same, different nomenclature.

+P just means pressure supposedly goes beyond SAAMI specs. The trouble with 9mm is the case doesn't have enough capacity to go much beyond spec anyway. 38 specials are a low pressure round, creating +P 38's is easy, common and meaningful.

From looking at factory ballistics, the +p stuff adds 100 FPS or less.

The difference is in the pressure. The standard maximum SAAMI pressure for the 9x19 (9mm, 9mm Parabellum, et. al.) is 35,000 psi., which is the same as the current maximum for the .357 Magnum. The SAAMI maximum pressure for the 9x19 +P is 38,500 psi.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Fred, the pressure standard is what I was looking for. Velocity is subject to action type, barrel length, etc., I'm not worried about velocity in 9MM, as I said, I don't do much with it even tho I have 4 of them, none have been fired in over 3 years.

Mr Sret -
Just thought I'd add.... The "+P" designation is relatively new and those rounds should not be fired in older 9mm pistols, unless the manufacturer says it's OK. Lugers and older Hi-Powers come to mind.
