You realize that they sold out because people actually paid their asking price. Unbelievable.

A couple of weeks ago one of my neighbors told me he was was out of ammo, so I sold him my last 4 boxes of Tullammo for what I paid for it, $7 a box. I reload and am well stocked, so I was happy to help him. How the people at CTD sleep at night is beyond me.

Picked up some steel cased stuff today. Limit 1 box/person/day. $12.99 and was bummed they wouldn't let me buy 2.
Me: "but you close in 5 minutes. If you let me buy 2, it'll be like one tonight, one first thing in the morning"
Them: "nice logic, but nope"

Rembrandt-

I compute my 9mm to be the same cost at .13 a round.

next year...who knows.

We are well past my "pain point". I saw this coming and invested heavily in 22 LR early in the craziness, and that is what I am mostly shooting. My expenditure of 9mm is very limited as of late. Hoping for a brighter future- which is not much of a plan.

I am waiting on a preordered 1k case of 9mm I ordered in in late may, hopefully that comes soon and is still $215.

My LGS has 100rd packs of 9mm WWB for $28 every now and then, I can live with that. I fairly recently bought a 200rd value pack of federal for $50 from the same LGS. Hes a good guy and is selling guns and ammo cheap compared to what's going on everywhere else which is strange because it's a very secluded hole in the wall shop in east bumshoe belmont, VT. You wouldnt think he would be blowing up big box store distibutors.......

I honestly don’t know. I started reloading 9mm last year and I don’t regret that decision. I think I did the math and was coming in at like $5 or $6 per 50 round box.

I’d really struggle if I was paying more than $12 per 50.

I've saved some 9mm brass and have dies but I don't know why. Keeping all my .355Ø bullets for my all American 38 Super.
Only shot the 9mm because the ammo was cheap when I was to lazy to reload other stuff.:D
Same with .223, both ships haven't sailed I'm afraid they've sunk, at least that's the Dumbocrate plan. :uhoh:

My range sessions have changed as well. In the past I shot 9mm almost exclusively, going through 500-600 rounds per session. I stocked up on 22 while it was inexpensive and added a GSG .22 1911 and M&P 22 Compact to my Mark IV and SR22. My range sessions now are split 50/50 between either 9mm, 40 or 45 and one or two of my 22's.

I just ran some numbers for my 9mm and you are definately doing something righter than me.

i came up with
primer 0.03
powder 0.02
bullet 0.025

I have run out of free or almost free coww and have been buying lead and sweetners.

What powder are you using to get $0.02 in powder in a 9mm? I'm loading with Clean Shot right now and it's under a penny. I'm out of pure lead, I need to pick some up this week. I should also hit some of the tire shops. I've got around 200-300 lbs of wheel weights coming that are free.

I just finished the last of my 500 lbs of wheelweights I had. Those cost me $0.27 a lb. At 56 bullets to the pound that's $0.004 per bullet, or just over 2 bullets to the penny. But I have to add in the cost of the coating so I just round it to a penny each.

I’m pretty well stocked but I would top off at 30 cents per round because it can still get way worse. No telling how bad politicians could make this by next year. I don’t have 9 years worth of ammo so I still look for deals and dollar cost average.

$1.10 for TulAmmo is sold out. Don't worry though you can get 500 rounds of reloads for the low price of $2 per round ($999 for 500). Limited to one per order because it's a high demand product...

25 cents shipped for fmj brass was my limit. Although, I bought my wife 5 boxes of 147gr blazer brass (50 rds) for $14.99 each with her G34. She wanted some to call her own, and I couldn't say no.

Another question to ask ......... What is your pain point for a box of primers? SPP were going for about $36 for a 1000 primers , now they're selling for $100 or so on the internet.

Everyone has a different comfort level for ammo prices. As soon as 9 mm FMJ hits 0.50/rd the shelves will once again be stocked and people will buy it at that price, but not many.

I've bought a few boxes at $0.30/rd but mostly I just roll my own for about half that cost. Keeps me off the street.

I really don’t see it as gouging but price fluctuation. We’ve been blessed with a stable market for years and right or wrong we’re getting a taste of instability.

I view ammo/firearms as essential but selective purchases, if I have the need and can afford I buy. Simple as that no lamenting past or future pricing, because there’s no guarantee of tomorrow.

$.40/round is good prices these days!

I haven't bought range ammo 9mm in years, so I guess my pain point is when I finally rub out of components and can't get more, then I'll have to pay whatever it is.

Luckily I'm doing fine on components for now, though I could always use a few thousand more primers.
