9mm rifles and carbines

I wasn't after fancy, I was after fun, so I got a Hi-Point .40 carbine. It's so much fun, and so accurate, that my grandson is trying to liberate it. I had to promise him his own HP 995 9mm carbine. He was holding out for his own .40 until I told him about the API stock, that's 9mm only. Kid's 11, for cryin' out loud.

So, we'll soon have a Hi-Point 9mm carbine in the safe. If I can cram it in there......

no way, really? that little 9mm carbine weighed almost 20 pounds?

Well over 15, 16ish as I said. The barrel was way, way overmade, and the FAL lower while cheap (at the time it was designed) is not light either.

Ironically it came out right as the cheap kits vanished.

I bought a Calico Liberty 100 9mm last summer. Sure, it takes 15 minutes to load the magazine, but once it's loaded, it's usually a little while before you have to do it again. Anyone wanting to come into my house unauthorized has 100 rounds of hornady TAP to argue with.

CX4 storm here. i bought the first one that i saw so the serial # is in the 560's. Its a very accurate gun. Mine has 1500-1700rds through here and has yet to have a malfunction of any sort. Ive used WWB, hot reloads, middle road reloads, steel cased ammo, expensive ammo, etc and it has fed everything perfectly.

The trigger does have some drag but with a model knife, it can easily be fixed. It has alot of options for mounting forward grips, lights, and almost every optic. The iron sights worked just fine in my rifle and can be adjusted. I have hit ground squirrels ~75yds on a regular basis using the iron sights. 100rds can be sent into a hole the size of 2.5"x2.5" note pad, standing, with very few stragglers.

I recommend the CX4 to anyone and everyone that asks me about them. It gets alot of looks at the range, even though its been out for 3-4 years.

Hi-Point has a no questions asked warranty once you figure out how to contact the factory. Unless things have changed in three years, finding them requires some research.

The carbine has an excessive amount of recoil for its cartridge--my observation.

This item got bad publicity because of its use at Columbine H.S. in Co.

Find a used one and save some money.

I like my Sub-2000, its a great gun. It hits as hard as my .357 Magnum with 124g +P Gold Dots and it gets around 4-6 MOA with most ammo. Perfect companion to my G19.
