Shot some test loads yesterday using my new home built Ransom rest. I did make a slight mod and moved the remote trigger bar downward, so brass ejection does not hit it. I attached my rest using a single 5/16" x 2.5" lag screw into my bench in the front, and c-clamp at the back. This position allowed me to sit down and run the trigger. I do know any movement of me will impact the POI.

I first test was to test my setup. I shoot 10 rounds ( 2 mags of 5) using the RMR 124gr HP-MP bullet, 4.9gr WSF, 1.120" OAL. This has been a good load for me out of my 1911.
All shot at 25 yds
Crony at 5' (data on target)
Temp in the 60's
10-15mph wind at my back

Once magazine was loaded, all shots where about 5 sec between firing. My ransom rest was auto resetting without me touching it.

These loads are a retest from me shooting on bags.

Don't know what happen with that lonely one. At this distance I can not see where the holes are.

I think something moved but don't know what. Still learning this rest.

Over all I'm pleased with the results. The 5.0 was the winner when I shot from bags, so this load is fairly consistent. But tighter since I remove me out of the equation.

Thanks for sharing! I would be pleased with the 4.8gr WSF results as well. Either load is well over minor, although I couldn’t quite make out the 5.0 Vavg. Any chance you’re going to try a faster powder?

1180 fps is the average for the 5.0 gr WSF. I've shot some with WST which is faster, in another thread. It did not do as good as I expected. Have some 231 but WSF has always preformed better in the 9mm.

I'm still tweaking on my rest. I see things that show up makes me wonder if it's returning back to the same spot, or my gun has a little more play than I like. I do know it was a compromise since I fitted 2 uppers to the 1 lower. 1 has a slightly looser fit. Just something else for me to check on.

WSF is a great powder for 9MM. I have loaded thousands of rounds with it. Great with plated bullets.

I don't have any 147's to test with.

I did have a request for HAP/XTP's 115gr and 124gr. Loaded some up this afternoon. Now just need to catch some good weather and time.
