While pondering over possible accesories for a pistol rail, I remebered seeing the 93r machine pistol somewhere and i was curious as to if anyone out there makes a rail attachment that resembles the 93r's grip/handle thing?

Although i would hesitate before using it for a mag dump(i like my hands), espically on polymer frames, it looks pretty awesome and i think a stable one could make for a fun range toy

A forward grip on a pistol is generally considered to put that weapon under the perview of the NFA. You'll probably need a tax stamp.

I think the 93r gets away with it because it's a "machine gun", not a "pistol". Legal semantics are fun.

didnt now about foregrips being a no-no, i know the whole stock/sbr scenario but i cant believe they regulate something like that.

The Beretta Model 93R uses a different frame than the Beretta Model 92/96 frame.

In the USA, due to the National Firearms Act of 1934...

A handgun with a vertical forward grip on it, is an AOW and subject to the NFA.

The Beretta Model 93R is classified as a MG. As a MG, it can legally have a vertical forward grip on it.

If one was to make a semi-auto only version of the Beretta Modle 93R, it would be a Title 2 AOW and not a Title 1 handgun.

On the bright side, if you can find a SOT to mod up the frame and attach the foregrip for you, the transfer tax on an AOW is only $5.

If you cant find an SOT to manufacture it, it is $200 to manufacture on a form 1...
