I like the action. I reckon the only reason they were rendered obsolete is the en bloc device makes the rifle a single shot if the clip isn't available, and the turning locking lug is probably more expensive than the manual turn bolt type action.
One of the problems these straight pulls have is the bolt head(lugs) will not stay in position when you take the bolt out of the receiver. The extractor tension is suppose to hold it. So you pull the bolt out and it snaps out of position and it won't go back in.. And when you turn the head it doesn't stay. A trick IIRC is to use a dime and put it between the lug and the shoulder of the bolt body to hold the head oriented until it slips into the receiver.
