I noticed these "Real Avid Bore Boss" bore cleaners recently. Not being familiar, and I have no idea how long they're been around, I bought several in different calibers. I really like them, and I think they perform better than the better-known "Bore Snake".

I think the primary advantages are: 1) easy threading leader through the barrel; 2) better brushing action; 3) easy & convenient storage

I've seen them when I went to our local Farm & Fleet but never tried one because I already have Boresnakes for all my firearms, might have to try one out for my new .243 since I don't have one for that.

I have one for my .22LR rifle. It works well, easy pull through using storage container, and was $10.

I never really never cared that much for Bore Snakes. Because they don't turn and track with the the lands and grooves of the barrel. I use a Tipton carbon fiber rod, it rotates on bearings in the handle.

I want a bore snake without the brush part. Got no need for the brush in most case when I am using a bore snake as all I want to do is get the residue and moisture out of the barrel. If I am going for a deep clean I use a rod and a brush and a good solvent and then patches and jag. But if I am using a bore snake the brush is pointless for me.

I use what the OP is using. Works well enough for what it is.

Bore snakes don't replace proper cleanings. They just keep the grime down longer between proper cleanings.

Actually I was thinking more like this.

Bore Blitz is basically a bore snake without the bronze brush. As my current batch of Bore Snakes wear out I will be replacing them with these. I like to have a bore snake with my hunting gear so when I come in from a wet day hunting I can dry the bore quickly. The brush never seemed to do much so I would be happy to do without it.
