I've been searching for a better way of carrying loaded moon clips. Wondering if anyone here has a discrete way (other than just throwing them in a pocket). I have a ruger sp101 in 9mm and a S&W 625.
I’d probably go with some sort of protective leather set up like this:

For what purpose? CCW, open carry, competition?I've been searching for a better way of carrying loaded moon clips. Wondering if anyone here has a discrete way (other than just throwing them in a pocket). I have a ruger sp101 in 9mm and a S&W 625.

My CCW setup S&W 442 with pocket protector for 38/357 moonclip.
Where did you get those pocket protectors?
Thanks
Moonclips for rimless cartridges are noticeable thicker (typically .035") compared to those for most rimmed cartridges (typically .020-.025"). This makes moonclips for rimless cartridges much more robust and tolerant to rough handling. I have carried 10mm moonclips in pockets and soft speed loader pouches hunting and even fallen on them without issue (except a funny looking bruise). When I carry 38 Special moonclips I carry them in a pocket protector.

The USPSA gamer setup. Left Minor setup, S&W 627 and 38 Short Colt. Right Major setup, S&W 625 and 45 ACP. Both utilizing a North Mounting moonclips holder.
I don't have one but a good way to carry two moonclips on the belt and still protect the moonclips is with the IDPA legal version of my moonclip holder for USPSA. North Mountain makes a version with a single post instead of four and a protector to shield the stack of two moonclips from you cover garment and impacts. You can get it short for two moonclip such at 9mm, 40/10, 45 or long for 38/357.
