I'd be curious as to how many hunters and gun enthusiasts know where the funding for Federal and State parks comes from. While the Pittman-Robertson Act pays for wildlife and habitat restoration and hunter/firearm education, it's user fees, vender fees and general funding the supports most of our Federal and state parks. Anyone who pays income taxes in the U.S. contributes to the National Parks Service. State parks differ by state, but most of them are general funded and funded by user fees. Some are totally user fee funded.
By the way, if you ever wondered why arrows/bolts cost so much, they are one of the highest taxed percentage wise of anything thru the Pittman-Robertson Act.....they 're taxed at 39 cents per shaft. Most everything else is taxed at 10-11%.
