A friend of mine has an Iver Johnson .22 caliber revolver from the late 50s, purchased by one of his grandfathers, as the story goes, to shoot the other grandfather with. Fortunately, that never happened, but my friend has all the original paperwork, box, gun in nearly mint condition, original box of bullets, letter from the manufacturer, and a catalog from a company selling guns, the Godfrey import corporation. Attached are a few pictures; he sent me ~10 pictures but I was only able to attach 4 of them.
He was wondering what the current street value for this gun might be, not that he wants to sell it, as it has great sentimental value(especially with that story)but he is interested in knowing what it might be worth. Thanks so much in advance!
P.S. I thought I had uploaded the picturesk but they don't show up.

Much more data is needed before anyone can estimate a value. Some IJ's from that era were solid frame, others were break tops. Barrel length, grip material, serial number, other markings would be helpful There's information on the main page of the forum that tells you how to post pictures using a hosting website.

My first handgun was an Iver Johnson Trailsman 66 breaktop from the same era. I bought it new for $37.50 in 1958. After two trips back to the factory, it still failed to index properly and the firing pin would hit the cylinder instead of the cartridge rim. Without more details, I can't estimate a value accurately. Having the original box and paperwork adds to the value, but I don't think there are a lot of IJ collectors out there. That said, a wild guess as to value - probably around $200. I checked current listings and completed sales on GB and stand by the $200 estimate.
