I was out yesterday morning with friends. One tested his new to him Remington 770. Another tried out his newly acquired 1943 Mosin-Nagant. Another practiced with his Glock 30. I was surprised to find my Ruger P345 is lighter by several ounces, discounting the G30 carries 2 more rounds. The Ruger is also thinner due to being single stack. I practiced moving drills with my Rem 870 with target loads as well. I didn't use my Neos but did use my Marlin 60. It's a grin inducing rifle for sure. Shooting the Ruger is also a joy because while I may not hit the X in moving drills, it's close enough to know that it's home defense use is justified. I got to shoot my friends' rifles and they shot my Marlin 60 and Ruger. Everyone tested, practiced and found answers to their questions. It was 85 degrees, a bit warm for late October, but a good time was had by all. A late lunch followed at a great Mexican restaurant.

Things like that warm my heart. Good friends, good guns, just practicing, plinking, and palavering. Maybe 400-500 rounds shot, and nobody got killed.

Shinin' times. Bring a couple of cameras along next time, hey?

Thank you for that report. An enjoyable read. Everyone had a great time shooting and a great feed afterward. It does not get much better than that!

Plus, you are in North Carolina, where October weather is usually superb.

I think there are several (older) discussions of that in the Tech section.

For myself, I usually just use attachments after reducing the pics to acceptable size with MSPaint and store them in a special folder on my machine. The new "Gallery" or whatever it's called throws this Old Dog, especially if it's a pic I already posted in the past. I work around it, but...

Seems pics are a common problem anyhow.

Once I figured out loading them in an album works I'll just do it that way. Pretty fast uploads. I have to go to my desktop PC to downsize photos in GIMP but it has numerous other advantages too. We taught the newb to lean forward so after a bit he could see thru the scope. The guy facing the camera is a good shooter and coach.
