I recently bought one of the M38 Classic Firearms (don't know much about Mosins specifically, but from a general firearm standpoint all the stuff looked good. Thank you Classic.) and picked it up at the pawn shop today.
Coincidentally there was an Mosin M44 there too with a $239 price tag. I inspected it and the bore looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while, the bolt had been welded on to have a turn down handle (looks poor cosmetically), and the receiver had been tapped for a scope mount. Overall this I'd rate this thing in fair-ish condition. The numbers on the butt stock, magazine, and top of the receivers match.
Are there numbers any where else?
Is the $239 price tag a fair price for the condition this rifle is in?
