A question about Pants.

I think the 'rough-out' suede holsters tend to stay in place better.

When you tuck your shirt in, it acts as suspenders....sorta.

Underwear matters. Mrs bought me some slick nylon that was supposed to be great for hot summers. They were cool indeed! Especially when your britches are around your ankles!

The quality belt is the first thing to try. I have two Azula gunbelts. One black, one tan. Thats all I wear, even if I'm not carrying.

Yes to pants, I find they are helpful in day to day life... wait, what was the question again? :D

To be honest, sometimes I deal with the same thing, slacks, shorts or other. I've never found a good solution and tend to keep my hands in my pockets to keep pants/shorts up if I don't have a jacket. I've been eyeing alternate carry locations/methods, such as discrete holster bands but have to think that'd be uncomfortable all day long.I'll be interested to see what you come up with.

An Hawaiian shirt over a t-shirt would allow you to wear the t-shirt tucked in, with the suspenders over the t-shirt, and the Hawaiian shirt over that. Nobody but you would know you are wearing suspenders.

That's me but I don't do loud colored shirts. Just large khaki, work shirts and one's like that. Perry suspenders are the best. In TX, Magellan light weight fishing shirts were just fine in the heat. Moisture wicking tee shirt also.

I threw my back out really bad once and had to wear a brace for a week or two and wasn't able to wear my normal gun belt tight enough to keep everything in place. I wore cheap nylon suspenders like lowes sells for tool belts and kept them under my cover shirt. The wide straps were comfortable on my shoulders and you couldn't tell I had them on, and then I just put my gun on the belt like normal but kept it loose.

I just went with the A&G Custom in double stitch saddle tan. My wife thinks I'm crazy for spending $105 on a belt. So I say, you'll spend 100+ all day long for stupid shoes. But they protect my feet she says. I say this gun protects my can, end of conversation.

I also use Kore gun belts. Having a dedicated gun belt makes all the difference carrying a firearm. The huge benefit of Kore is they come in one size and you cut it the length you need. Give yourself a few inches though so you can have a range of movement and adjustment. Example you wear a size 44 waist jeans, cut the belt to 50 or something along those lines.

I have 2 Kore belts, one leather and one nylon. Only gun belts I have needed for about 7 years.

I'm a huge fan of non-stretch suspenders. They've made a tremendous improvement in my carry comfort.

I also enjoy really obnoxious Hawaiian shirts, for some reason. When I simply have to carry a gun while wearing an obnoxious Hawaiian shirt, I put on a "wife beater" undershirt, leather suspenders, a best quality horsehide gunbelt, and a Tucker Gunleather IWB holster.

Within the past year I bought 2 Kore gun belts, one tan and one black. All I can say is wow. You will notice a huge difference with a real gun belt. The Kore is infinitely adjustable which IMHO is better. They are all I wear day to day now whether I carry or not. I had used thick leather belts that I thought were good enough, but I really had no idea. Everyone here has you on the right track now.

I bought a cheap "Tactical belt" off amazon as a experiment. It does seem to be helping keeping the trousers up better (sorry Hangingrock) but It's a bit of a pita to have to readjust the buckle to get it the right tension every time you change pants but so far it's seems to be ok. It is well made with real metal and not plastic hardware and is quite stiff. I think it would be good for hanging tools and so forth off of. Still seeing if it's going to be useful for CCW but I am waiting for the Wideness Frequent Flyer with bated breath.

Now we're getting somewhere. Here are some of the ones that I've used in the past and have liked:

DeSantis Econobelt: https://www.desantisholster.com/1-1-2-everyday-carry-edc-belt/

Beltman: https://www.thebeltman.net/

Aker B21: https://akerleather.com/belts/off-duty-belts/B21/concealed-carry-gun-belt-1-12.html

Wilderness Tactical Frequent Flyer: https://www.thewilderness.com/belts/frequent-flyer-belt/
I see the Aker belt is available on both Ebay and Amazon, both with free shipping and about $10 less than the Aker site. I like the idea of actual leather, and like the looks.

How happy were you with this particular belt as compared to the others?

Even a multitool weighs enough to pull my pants down around my hips. I'm grabbing my belt and pulling up my pants every 5 minutes Any Suggestions?

LOL, Just wear a Hoodie and you will fit right in style! It's what all the Cool Dudes are wearing these days!

Some comments on each
Econobelt -- This is undoubtedly the best bargain that I posted. Maybe not the best belt, but I'm on my second one in about 10 years. I use them as a dress belt with a suit, and as far as I can tell, nobody is the wiser. Granted, dress wear means it's pretty light use (no FOF training in the suit....), but I like it.

B21 -- A very good value. Notably less expensive than the Beltman. The leather isn't as heavy and the workmanship isn't really as nice. Still, It held up to about 6-7 years of daily use before I replaced it. I'd buy one again in a minute.

Beltman -- A very nice belt, but hasn't held up quite as well as I'd expected. Part of that is probably because I gained weight during the pandemic, in all honesty. Let me also say that the people at Beltman are really great to deal with. When the time comes for another leather belt, I'll certainly look at Beltman, but I'll also be looking at other brands.

Frequent Flyer -- I've only had this one for a couple of weeks, but it's amazingly comfortable. I never considered the weight of the belt itself in dealing with my EDC before, but I clearly should have. This is the "airweight" of belts and it's very noticeably lighter than my leather belts.

Don't spend a lot of money. Crossbreed Seconds sells their blem belts and holsters at VERY reasonable prices.

I own several, and wear them a lot. I have never figured out what the blemish is that caused them to reject them from the regular line. But then again, who cares, it's a belt and you'll blem it up the first week you wear it.

There's a code at the top of the page for an extra $5 off which will bring the price down to around $30 for most belts.

And yes, these are real gun belts.

Great tip.... thanks!

I'm a huge believer in soft cotton undershirts. Even when I worked outdoors in FL, an undershirt keeps you cooler. Wear an undershirt, tuck it in with suspenders and wear your Hawaiian over that. You could also substitute polos rather than T-shirts, they also work just fine over an undershirt.

All really good advice. That $10.00 cheapy "tactile" belt I got off Amazon has really shown me the difference a stiff belt can make. I'm waiting for the Widerness Frequent flyer to arrive and I'll be moving to that immediately. Next is going to be a good holster. I had my current IWB come completely off my belt yesterday in a parking lot when I went to pick something up. Not acceptable at all.

Thanks for the tip. I had just decided over the weekend I wanted a gun belt for my outdoors work trousers and one of their seconds appears it will fit the bill nicely. Hammers, tape measures, and fencing tools, pull ones trousers down as much as a gun!

For that Crossbreed seconds. What do they mean by "Classic Belts"? Are these actual gun belts or just regular belts? It says not to email or phone with questions.

Curious Captains want to know.

I did give that a try. It just felt weird with the left over belly but it is something I'll be keeping in mind. After I bough that cheap $10.00 "tactile" belt off amazon as a test of concept it did show me what a incredible difference a stiff belt makes on just keeping my pants up let alone EDC. I've ordered the Wilderness Frequent Flyer 5 stitch and am shopping for a good heavy leather proper gunbelt as we speak.

I've been carrying with the Wilderness Frequent Flyer for 2 days now and it's like the EDC just isn't even there. Such a HUGE difference. The Classic from Crossbreed just arrived this afternoon so I'll be trying that for the rest of the week. Again. Thanks to all of you. my EDC is now a much better experience. And my pants stay up!

A real gunbelt makes a world of difference in carry comfort. I'm glad you found something that you like.

My Crossbreed came in last Saturday - fast shipping! - and I am quite pleased with it. Like you it's hard to see what made it a second to them. There's a "blemish" on the flesh side that I suppose gave it a downcheck, but it's purely cosmetic and on the inside where no one can see it. Whatever, it's a great belt. Wore it working outside Saturday and Sunday where it made noticeable difference in how comfortably I was able to carry a hammer and tape measure in the pockets of the carpenter trousers I was wearing. A typical carry pistol would weigh about that. I've used a gun belt for carrying my gun, but until last weekend had always worn regular belts (didn't want to mess up my gun belt) when working outside carrying tools which - if anything - often weigh more than a pistol. No more!
