What is the recoil like? Is there anything you can directly compare it to? I've shot 1911's (in both .38 Super (the best caliber ever:D) and .45), a Glock 19, a Glock 23, an XD45 Compact and a BHP (along with .22's). Any comparison in relation to these would be greatly appreciated.

I do not own a P-11, but have shot my friends. I'm not sure if I could compare the recoil and muzzle flip directly to any of the pistols that you've mentioned, but I've owned and shot .45, .357 (snub and service revolvers), 9mm, and .38 snubs. The P-11 recoil was easily handled and I could follow up on 2nd shots pretty quick. The only thing I didn't like about the P-11 was a long trigger pull that took some getting used to. Good little gun. From what you've listed, you shouldn't have any problem controlling the P-11 with relative ease.
