A Ratty Old Mosin--Good Object Lesson

Question:

Is what makes one Mosin geared for light ball and another geared for heavy merely a difference in twist rate? Is it something else?

Good question. I suspect it was a matter of tuning, and AFAIK the twist rate is always around 9.5 or 10. But I don't know that anyone has really looked into that question.

yeah I'm seeing that lately.It's gonna take time for me to do that though,and not all types of ammo are readily available right now.

My conclusion in all 4 of my Mosins is Brown Bear sucks.Might as well get a shotgun if I'm going to use that ammo.

Prvi Partizan has done decent so far,Wolf 148gr also but in my M38 no ammo has produced a decent group at 100yds.I figuire with it if I aim for a bowling pin at 100yds I'll hit the one next to it lol.
