well, the snow finally melted off and the temperature was above 60 here in ohio. i actually got to spend some time outside today.

i recently purchased a cheepie simmons red dot scope from SOG and modified a set of tasco rings to fit my romanian training rifle.

made sure everything was tight, grabbed a handful of 22 shorts, my targets and was out-the-door to sight her in.

only took a couple of shots and she was on target at 25 yards. i probably plinked for an hour and went through a box of CBs (fed single-shot). it was great. an empty beer can isn't safe within 50 yards of me.

the target shown was a 15-shot group at 25 yards, right at an inch. not great but OK. the red dot is kinda large but the scope is fun.

I also took advantage of the nice weather.
Got acquainted with my new SA-M7 and Rem 700 ADL, helped my brother rezero his SKS, and also aided him in burning up some 9mm ammo. It was an OK day.:D

Nice Romanian. Nice shooting.

It'll probably shoot even better with .22LR.

Oh Yes! Cure for cabin fever.

Today I ran a dozen CBs through a newly aquired Winchester 52 Pre A circa 1925. The gun is holey and brown and damn near smoothbore. It looks like someone CARVED off the steel buttplate and carved an extension and glued it on using wood putty as filler... What can I say, I am a sucker for dogs... I disassembled it and now it's soaking in secret sauce...

With a 28" barrel, the CBs aren't very loud at all. If there are any pesky groundhogs eyeing my prized tomato patch this summer, I think they had it...

Smells like Spring.

thanx guys for rubbing it in! here it was snowing and crappy out. major bummer........ but at least i can relish in the fact that at least some people were having a hoot burning gunpowder!:D
