A4 upper question...

Do most A4 builds set up with heavy or bull barrels for benchrest fun have the M4 feed ramps?

My Delton A2 middy doesn't have them and I've never missed a beat with the rifle.

PSA has a sale on mil. spec. A4 M16 uppers... which don't have the M4 feed ramps....

but I'm don't want to get it if most of the barrels out there are cut for M4 feed ramps.

Honestly it looks like everyone is standardizing on the extended ramps for barrels, though brand matters. Note: Barrels with barrel extentions with "M4 cuts" will work in both types of upper. Uppers cut for extended ramps will probably be unreliable with standard extentions, unless you file the extention to match.

An upper receiver without cuts is compatible with a barrel extension with cuts.

This should help. It's fairly easy to add or modify the M4 ramp with small hand tools.
